Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will provide professional project management services to support Arup’s Programme and Project Services work. The successful candidate will bring strong senior project management experience, with the ability to lead complex projects, manage client relationships and contribute to the growth of Arup’s project management capability.

The opportunity:

  • Lead the delivery of design, construction and advisory projects, ensuring high standards of quality, performance and client service.
     
  • Manage project scope, programme, cost, resources, risks, issues, communications and procurement to support successful project outcomes.
     
  • Plan and implement project set-up activities, including resourcing requirements, project execution plans and management system requirements.
     
  • Prepare clear client reports that summarise key issues, progress, risks and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
     
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients, supporting business development and the expansion of opportunities for Arup.
     
  • Lead or contribute to tender submissions, bids, proposals and client presentations.
     
  • Support the development of Arup’s project management capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing, lessons learnt and continuous improvement.
     


Is this role right for you?

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture, project management, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
     
  • Recognised project management qualification or certification such as PM Diploma, Masters, PMQ, PMP, CPPM, MSP or PRINCE2.
     
  • Strong practical and theoretical project management and design management knowledge, with the ability to lead projects and programmes across scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communications, risk, issues and procurement.
     
  • Experience managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, ideally within Science, Industry and Technology, with a primary focus on data centres.
     
  • Ability to independently analyse project information, report on outcomes and develop clear actions to address risks, issues or performance gaps.
     
  • Confidence using digital tools and techniques that support the analysis, reporting and management of complex projects or programmes.
     
  • A collaborative, client-focused communication style, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural teams and engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
