The Opportunity

Working within a team of 12, reporting to the Team Leader & Supervisors on day-to-day Project Costing tasks.

The Accounts assistant will work within the Costing team executing all Project & Cost Accounting processes, globally. The team provides services to all five Arup regions, ensuring Arup cost is correct so that billing is in turn, correct and consistent.
This includes all tasks around enabling staff time to be allocated correct to job numbers in a timely and exact manner. This will require strong customer focus and working to demanding deadlines.

You will manage the regional Costing mailbox and the relationships with key stakeholders in that region. This will include monitoring mailboxes for requests and communicating with internal customers by email and telephone in relation to the queries and requests received, working to tight deadlines. You will have the operational ownership of the Arup timesheet system and managing data interfaces. 

You will carry out all tasks ensure that all Arup staff data is maintained accurately across all Finance Systems. This includes regions, entities, projects, and staff and validate and check timesheet data change requests and execute journal transfers to reallocate time appropriately, complete monthly reconciliations centring around staff data and staff costs. You will develop technical expertise in software used within Arup Finance and assist with any future potential software development.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Have worked in a Project & Cost Accounting environment
  • Have transactional processing experience (data entry).
  • Have knowledge and experience of using Oracle, JDE or other ERP Finance Systems.
  • Have awareness of working in a Finance Shared Service Centre environment.
  • Are committed to continuous Improvement and Automation
